Neil Moore – Simply Music
He is also the creator of the Simply Music Piano methodology.
Neil was born in 1957 in Melbourne, Australia, and began studying piano at the age of 7. He has spent most of his life actively involved in ‘playing-based’ music learning. Neil composes and arranges much of the music used throughout the Simply Music Piano (and Accordion) program. In additional to curriculum development, Neil’s most extensive field of focus has been the training and coaching of piano teachers.
Currently, Neil guides the direction of the organization, advises on its executive operations and is the international spokesperson for the Simply Music Institute of Learning and Education.
Patricia Bartell – Simply Music Accordion
Simply Music Accordion has been adapted from the Simply Music Piano program by Patricia Bartell, and is proudly endorsed by Hohner, one of the world’s pre-eminent accordion makers.
Born in La Paz, Bolivia, Patricia began playing at age eight and teaching at sixteen. She has a B.A. in Music Education and Accordion Performance and has studied accordion in France under world-renowned teacher Frédéric Deschamps and piano with Dr. Judith Schoepflin of Whitworth University and Kendall Feeney of the Golandsky Institute. She has performed in numerous international competitions, claiming many titles.
Patricia teaches accordion and piano full time in Spokane, Washington and travels world-wide as an adjudicator, a Hohner endorsee concert performer and teacher. Her passion is not only in teaching students but also training and mentoring new teachers. Ms. Bartell is a member of Tango Volcado (Argentine Tango Quartet), leads a radical young accordion band called, “The Portatos,” and is the USA adjudicator for the Trophée Mondial – a prestigious international accordion championship.
Lynn Kleiner – Simply Music Rhapsody
Simply Music Rhapsody is Simply Music’s new music and movement program for children birth through age five. Created by Lynn Kleiner, this stimulating new program is based on the Orff philosophy and is designed to introduce children to the joy of music through play, and prepare them for playing-based instrumental lessons in the future.
Lynn Kleiner, an internationally recognized leader in music education, has been teaching since 1978. She is the founder and director of Music Rhapsody, a music school teaching thousands of children, infants through teens, in day cares, preschools and elementary schools as well as Music Rhapsody centers since 1983.
Awarded the prestigious Oppenheim Award, Lynn’s instrument and DVD kits for children have also received the Dove Award and are recommended by the National Parenting Association. Lynn has several books and CDs which have won the Creative Child Award, and her own line of percussion instruments through REMO. Lynn is a popular presenter for the American Orff Association, MENC, the National Association for Music Education, the International Music Therapy Conference and the International Society of Music Educators.
Lyndel Kennedy – Play-a-Story
Play-a-Story, Simply Music’s breakthrough improvisation program, is a musical journey in which you and your child travel through a storybook world.
Lyndel Kennedy lives in Perth, Australia with her husband and their four children. As well as being the creator of Play-a-Story, she also teaches the Simply Music Piano program.
Lyndel’s programs have emerged from her rich music and visual arts career in piano teaching for over 25 years, graphic design, videography, photography, and story telling. This unique background is enhanced further through attending Composition Master Classes with the late Brian May, conductor and screen composer.
Her own musical journey began as a young child, beginning with opportunities to play at national level competitions, through to directing school musicals and choirs, and conducting international teacher workshops for her programs.
Lyndel is passionate about empowering students to unveil their own musical identity.
Chase Moore – Traxschool
Chase Moore was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1985, and was immersed in music from birth. His mother is one of the world’s leading Kindermusik educators, and his father is the founder of Simply Music, the world’s largest playing-based music education institution.
Chase has been a hip-hop fan since childhood and after being exposed to the quantity and diversity of American music, hip-hop became an integral part of his life. He began writing rhymes and making beats at the age of 12. As a freshman in high school, his band, Capitol Conspiracy, was nominated for a SAMMIE Award in the category of best Hip-Hop group. Throughout his teens, Chase gained recognition and credibility by competing in organized rap battles. He has won numerous competitions including The Source Magazine’s Unsigned Hype battle (2004).
Chase continues to work as an artist, as well as a producer and audio engineer at Omina Labs, The Track Shack and Sound Cap Audio. In addition, he is currently working with the multi-national, music-education institution, Simply Music, developing audio-production programs that will be offered to their international student body.
